Loyal Gamers and fellow NERO agents,
First, any still checking these boards after such a long period of silence from the developers needs to be thanked. It is your support and love for AI design that kept this project alive over the past year. We, the developers at the University of Texas at Austin say thank you.
Now with out further ado...
NERO2.0 Battle Plan
With the release of NERO2.0 just around the corner, many changes will befall this forums and website. First I will be taking over as community moderator; any questions or comments you have for us developers I will answer to the best of my ability. I've been working on NERO for the past year and will be willing to answer (or find an answer) to most the questions you could think of. I won't be able to get to ever question, but general and well thought out opinions will have my highest priority.
In the next week or two the NERO forums will get an overhaul; sticking and moving a lot of strategy ideas for training and battle to their own section. Very important and pertinent posts will be moved to the new NERO2.0 section for accessibility. Also as I mentioned a new NERO2.0 section will be opening up very soon with a slightly different, more directed, structure.
NERO2.0 will have it's own new website with linkable and download-able movies as well as a new features and tutorial section. Any new builds or news of NERO2.0 will be relayed via the new site as well as any patches.
As far as the game, which I know many of you are waiting for, the most information I can confirm is that the interface has changed for the better, battles have a myriad of new options and strategies and overall I personally think the game is a great step forward in being a compelling, fun RTS. As we come closer to release I will be able to divulge more and more information regarding NERO2.0. Who knows it may be closer to release then you think. ^.-
Finally, as John stated in a prior post there are a couple of us working on a open source version of NERO at the moment. As we get more confident with versions and demos, more information will be released as well as the svn repository.
