Hi,
I have a problem: i have a pretty nice team, not very good but they do it well in training. They go to an enemy and shoot it from a save distance. And they know their first priority is to go to the flag. They are also used to walls, and running enemies are no big deal too.
But when i put this team in battle they screw up. Some will just die, others run scared against the borders of the map. Here's a link to my team: www.janpaulposma.nl/NERO/ArmyB4.rtf
I cant figure it out... Hope u can! _________________ Veni, vidi, pwned! |

It's likely that they aren't used to be around lots of other enemies. You might want to try adding more and more enemies to their training. Their sensors are more active the more enemies there are, so for example a team that stays slightly back from a single enemy might run for the hills when suddenly confronted with 20 enemies at once.

| I've noticed this also, the idea of a team changing completely. For example, I had a team that would spawn and just cluster together. If I changed the spawn point, eventually they'd cluster together there, and moving a NERO would cause him to run back towards the cluster. There wouldn't be anyone outside of a 10-NERO diameter. However, this training was done with no enemies on the field. As soon as I put one enemy on the field (even with an entire map between my cluster and the enemy) they would start to uncluster due to the new stimulus, even though I never gave any positive or negative training in terms of "approach enemy". |

Wow Gluggie that is pretty funny...that's the most sticky I've seen! It seems pretty good too...it went around some walls while still sticking together.

I'm new to the forum. The ideas and theory behind this game are very interesting, but this isn't the place to say that.
Firstly, I have encountered that problem with two-faced teams before with one of mine. I'll call them my pretender team; they only act like they know what they're doing in training to keep escape burning wrath from above.
Love your sticky team too. I agree with ken. I think this team might actually have some potential if they can keep this basic behavior, and learn to attack better. They attack alright, but if they hit a wall, it seems that exploring every inch of it becomes the prime objective. I'm going to see what can be done with them as a little experiment... don't know when I'll do it though...
and yes, I do realize that this tread is kinda old, but I felt compelled to comment anyway. _________________ Digg NERO!
